Chipped Nails Quick Fix

On a good week I like to get my mani done twice a week. Not because I'm high maintenance like that, but I work with my hands and its really the only way to keep them fresh.
After a day of beating faces and my 'break in case of emergency' hair styling activities.. my nails are back to crap. I've discovered a way to get it right when I can't make it to a salon. When It comes to dry time.. I have no patience! So the whole 3-4 coats thing just doesn't cut it for me.
My wonder paint is glitter polish!
A little bit of bling and they are set.
Here's how to do it:                                           1. Apply a similar base color to tips of the nails to touch up chipped polish (optional if you're pressed for time).                                               2. Brush on glitter polish starting from the tip of the nail, brushing toward the cuticle. You don't want to do the whole nail; begin to lift the brush from the nail just past the middle of the nail bed so that it looks more like a fade effect. I like to add an extra drop of glitter polish to the tips of the nails for a nicer effect.                                   3.Apply a coat of clear polish and you're done! You don't even have to worry about having a steady hand or messing it up by painting your cuticles. Super easy!

Amanda G's After Shock

Yeeeesss! Advice well taken by Amanda Genco. So, we dumped her bag again and look; she's got it straight with less fuss and more of the musts to tote around. Clearly Clinique got the best of her but this girl is good to go and touch up and switch up at a moments notice. Check it out!
Now she's got: (counter clockwise: from bottom left) MAC Paint Pots in Vintage Selection and Painterly:I love love love these for the lids, both as a shadow base and as an eyeshadow. Keeps you from creasing and makes your shadows go POP, the paler the better and oh the frosty ones will add texture; MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack: also nice on the lids for a smoky eye that won't budge and as lines it is a must! Seriously I love this stuff, waterproof and sweat resistant. You want to apply this with a skinny liner brush, if you have a difficult time with keeping a steady hand then you want to use an 'angled' brush instead. Your go to for clean winged liner; That Stella McCartney roll on fragrance didn't go anywhere! And why should she? Necessary for touch ups behind the ear and at pulse points; L'Occitane Hand Cream: Perfect for keeping the hands soft and pretty especially in the winter; Clinique Powder Makeup; Philosophy Lip Gloss in Birthday Cake: for soft shimmery puckers that smell yum; Clinique Lipstick in Tender Heart: love this lip tone pink it's perfect for anyone, any complexion; Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion; Clinique Bronzer Duo in Almost Bronze: for highlight and contour or soft bronze and blush, all in one; Clinique Lip Gloss; Clinique Chubby Stick in Mega Melon: This works for a pinch of color on the lips and cheeks, double duty; Clinique Eyeshadow Quad: A nice range of neutral to deep, sweep the darker shades in the outer corners of the eyes and smudge along the bottom lash line for a smoky evening eye; Burts Bees Lip Balm: of course! It makes lips happy. Always moisturize the lips beneath lip color to keep lips from chaffing; Smashbox Limit Less Eyeliner: Perfect for lining, smudging and turning that soft eye into a vixen look; Clinque Lash Doubling Mascara; apply 3-4 coats for maximum lash build; Boujoir Kohl & Contour: at first I didn't get why Amanda had two kohl liners but there's no sharpener here, so I totally get it; Oh, meet our friend Tweezerman Tweezers: Be careful though not to over pluck as a cure for boredom; and finally, Cuticle Scissors?: hmmmm

Remix of the Makeup Bag

One day at the salon, after the rush of all the regulars and during the slow down, of all the evening walk-ins. I took a break from 'making the world brown' with the airbrushed tans and took a look into some of the stylists makeup bags. Besides, this is the time when we all get a break to primp and refresh.. remove and reapply our lips. But how much of that do we really NEED to keep on hand?

 Amanda G's Bella Bag

Seriously! With all of these mineral powders.. Amanda is becoming a powder puff girl! Here's my list on how to minimize and keep all the things a girl's gotta have and free yourself of all the extra beauty bulk.
 Keep:
  • A pink lip and a neutral lip (to take your lip from clean to flirty. If you carry a tinted lip conditioner, DO count this as one of your neutrals or pinks -#3, #9, #10 or #11)
  • One neutral eye shadow palette (It's ok if you wear it to death.. even that pale shadow has good use as a brightener for the inner corners of the eye -#7)
  • One dark eye kohl (I personally need this to look awake. period. Perfect to smoke out the eyes for last minute plans. Just line. smudge and go -#13)
  • One Mascara (a must even if you go naked faced. It's good to keep the wand of your favorite mascara and swap it out with other formulas. Like when you love the wet lash but like the separation that another brush gives you. -#14)
  • One powder brush (I love small kabuki's like the one that Amanda has. perfect for touching up and buffing out the oils in the skin- #1)
  • One Bronzer and Higlighter (even better if you have this as a duo -#5)
  • One roll-on or sample sized vial of your favorite fragrance (You never know! Use it behind your ears and at the bend of the arms to freshen up -#17)
  • (optional) One color correcting or brightening concealer (full coverage so that you can use a dab, perfect for erasing the effects of a crazy day or night -#19)
  • (only if you must) Tweezerman Tweezers (for the brow enthusiasts only! -#12)
Add:
One tube of 'your perfect' Red lipstick (a must for taking any girl from hot mess to hot and polished)
